Research in Applied Probability is currently focused on modeling financial data for fraud detection, on modeling climatology data, and on studying the size of unseen species, which plays an important role in understanding biodiversity. Meanwhile, research in Theoretical Probability focuses on studying the distribution theory of runs and patterns, as well as crossing probabilities in diffusion processes.
