Dr. Christian Wolf Joins the Department as New Department Head
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics welcomes Dr. Christian Wolf as its new Department Head. Dr. Wolf brings experience in leadership, research, teaching, and service from his position at the City College of New York (CCNY) and at the CUNY Graduate Center. The faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics are looking forward to working with Dr. Wolf in continued efforts at building strong undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics and statistics.

Ms. Abigail Good Leads 2025 Fall Convocation Processional
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics was honored that our very own Ms. Abigail Good was chosen to lead the 2025 Fall Convocation processional as the Mace Bearer on August 26, 2025. Convocation marks the "official" start to a new academic year and presents an opportunity to welcome all new students to the Mississippi State family. The honor was awarded as a result of Ms. Good receiving the 2025 Zacharias Early Career Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award.
