The Department of Mathematics and Statistics anticipates filling one or more tenure-track positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels) beginning in August 2018. Mississippi State University is a Land-Grant University and designated as a “very high research activity university” by the Carnegie Foundation. Requirements for a tenure-track position include doctoral degree, or a doctoral degree expected no later than July 2018, demonstrated success in research, and a commitment to effective graduate and undergraduate teaching. Essential duties and responsibilities include teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, develop a substantial research program, provide direction and effective leadership for M.S. and Ph.D. students and engage in departmental, university, and scientific community service functions. We particularly encourage applications from areas of specialization that complement the research programs of current faculty. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
