Abstract:

Everyday statistician's impact on clinical trials and team science: unpacking my own questions.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Ji-Hyun Lee is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Florida (UF), holding joint appointments in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine. She also serves as the Associate Director for Cancer Quantitative Sciences at the UF Health Cancer Center.

Dr. Lee completed her Master’s degree and Doctor of Public Health in Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 and 2003, respectively. She has held academic positions at the Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center before joining UF in 2018.

Her research interests include clinical trial designs, longitudinal data analysis, health disparities, cancer prevention interventions (such as smoking cessation), and AI approaches for imaging data. She has published 175 peer-reviewed papers and has a strong dedication to improving the lives of those affected by cancer.

Dr. Lee has been actively involved in professional organizations, serving as President of the Caucus for Women in Statistics in 2017 and being elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA) in 2018. She is serving as the 120th President of the ASA in 2025.
