Novel numerical methods for an elliptic state-constrained optimal control problem

Abstract: Problems of partial differential equation (PDE)-constrained optimization arise in many applications and has recently received a significant attention. In this talk, we will briefly introduce C0 interior penalty methods and then apply to solve an elliptic distributed optimal control problem with state constraints and Neumann boundary condition. Both a priori and a posteriori analysis will be discussed. We will also present numerical results to gauge the performance of the proposed methods.
