Research interests: Matroid Theory and Graph Theory
My research interests are in graph theory and matroid theory. Matroids are combinatorial structures that abstractly capture the fundamental properties of dependence that are common to graphs and matrices. Matroids find their connections with many other areas like optimization, coding theory, arrangements of hyperplanes, and more. A short introduction to matroid theory can be found in the article "Briefly what is a matroid?" by James Oxley at https://www.math.lsu.edu/~oxley/matroid_intro_summ.pdf
I am interested particularly in the structural aspects of graphs and matroids. Tutte's famous quote "If a theorem about graphs can be expressed in terms of edges and cycles only it probably exemplifies a more general theorem about matroids" motivates my interest in the interplay of graphs and matroids. The list of preprints on my webpage provides an insight into the problems I have worked on in the past.
