Monday, Oct 27, 2014 The 10th Mississippi State Conference in Differential Equations and Computational Simulations took place at Mississippi State University last weekend, Oct 23-25, 2014.

The 10th Mississippi State Conference in Differential Equations and Computational Simulations was successfully held on October 23-25, 2014. This interdisciplinary conference has provided a joint forum for mathematicians, scientists and engineers from academia and industry to exchange research ideas about theoretical and applied developments in differential equations and computational simulations. There were a total of 167 registered participants, from 12 different countries. This is a record high number of participants among the past 10 DE conferences.

The conference was supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. With this grant, a total of 32 non-MSU graduate students/recent Ph.D.s were supported to participate in the conference. There were 10 plenary talks by the world-renowned researchers, and 82 contributed presentations were given by researchers in various disciplines working on differential equations and computational simulations.

The conference was also dedicated to Dr. Ratnasingham Shivaji, the H. Barton Excellence Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the William L. Giles Distinguished Professor Emeritus of MSU, in celebration of his 60th birthday, his outstanding contributions to Differential Equations, and his exemplary service to MSU.
