    Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Mississippi State University. The Department resides within the College of Arts and Sciences and offers a number of customized degree programs.

  • Luncheon at the end of Semester

    At the end of each semester, the department invites all the students, faculty, staff for a luncheon. The picture shows our graduate students in the 2011 Fall luncheon meeting.

  • Research Experience for Undergraduates

    The NSF sponsored Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Applied Mathematics and Biostatistics, a 10-week program, was held during summer 2010 and 2011. The above picture is a group photo of REU students, faculty (Drs. Lim, Shivaji, Yang, Zhang) and graduate student mentors in Summer 2011.

  • Math Domain

    Math Domain is a computer lab first opened in 2005. This lab is equipped with tutors to help students when they don't understand homework problems or have questions beyond the classroom.

  • Excellent professor in his classroom.

    Dr. Bruce Ebanks who has received several teaching awards was teaching his Honor Calculus class in Fall 2011.

  • DE Conference

    The 9th Mississippi State - UAB Conference on Differential Equations & Computational Simulations was held on October 4-6, 2012 in McCool Hall at MSU.
