Title:
Composite MicroRNA Targets Prediction and Expression Analysis
Abstract:
MicroRNAs are noncoding RNAs whose role is to repress translation by
binding to mRNA targets. There are computational algorithms for microRNA
target predictions, but their results vary. We have systematically studied
the prediction algorithms through the use of similarity measures and
composite statistics.
A cross-entropy Monte Carlo method is explored for
solving the rank aggregation problem. We have also measured expression
levels of microRNAs in the NCI-60 cancer cell lines and investigated the
ability of microRNA expression levels to predict tissue of origin.
