Ahmed Department of Engineering and Physics Tarleton State University Time and Place: Friday, October 17 at 4:00 pm, Allen 14 Title: "On Edge Detection in Digital Images" Abstract: Operators in the form of matrices are applied to detect edges in digital images. The application of these operators is in the form of discrete convolution. In this presentation operators formulated using Lagrange polynomials are proposed for edge detection. Results from the application of two types of Lagrange-based operators are demonstrated and values from performance characterization criteria evaluations are given.
